 I started My Bariatric specialization as a way to help bariatric patients during one of the most significant, and possibly overwhelming, times in their life. Since 2013 I have had the honor and joy of helping thousands of bariatric patients restore their health, energy, and confidence. My experience over the years has solidified my passion for helping others and has helped me gain the experience to become a Board Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management.

Despite many efforts towards a more empathetic and welcoming society, weight bias remains. While dealing with weight struggles throughout my own life, I can empathize with those who are looking for someone trustworthy who makes them feel welcomed, heard, and respected. I applaud the bravery of those struggling with the disease of obesity who reach out for support in making lasting changes to improve their health, vitality, and quality of life.

My education has equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and disease prevention. Drawing on my own personal experience overcoming chronic disease along with my expertise in nutrition, I help people make targeted diet and lifestyle changes that produce real, sustainable results. Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? Throughout the coaching process, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

Coping Tools
Remember – observe the feeling without judgement. Look inward to discover the manifestation of the feeling. Do you feel cold; hungry; lonely? By putting a name to the feeling, you can cope with the feeling.

Mindfulness helps you put coping mechanisms in place to identify and then deal with emotions appropriately. The goal is to acknowledge the feeling, observe your body’s response to the feeling, then let the feeling go. You cannot control everything that happens to you in life. But you CAN control how you respond to those things. Take back your power. Respond with observation rather than taking action.

How do you do this? By being self-aware. Grant yourself the grace to take a few moments to pause and identify the feelings evoked by the message coming at you. What was the message and who did it come from? Observe your body’s impulse to take action and what that action is. Then decide how you choose to respond.

Integrative Nutrition® Plate

The Integrative Nutrition Plate emphasizes the importance of local and organic produce, whole grains, high-quality proteins, plant-based fats, and water. It shows you how a plate should appear at mealtime and emphasizes the importance of proportions and portion size. To complete the picture, the plate is surrounded with lifestyle factors that create optimal health: relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality. I’ll introduce you to some of the healthiest foods on the planet and teach you how to find what’s healthiest for your unique body!


Primary Food™

It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat that affects our health, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, and a spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these “primary foods” are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. The concept of bio-individuality is the idea that each of us has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background.


Crowding Out

Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. My approach is different – by eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, you will “crowd out” the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice to make happen, but I will support you all the way.


Deconstructing Cravings

Cravings play a critical role in understanding what your body needs and shouldn’t be ignored. When you learn how to deconstruct your cravings and understand what they’re really telling you, you will be able to reclaim a sense of balance and harmony.
